Living in the Now

2,800

“I don’t want to run anymore.
I want to pause. To listen and to feel.
To fall silent and let the breeze
gently tangle my hair.

To breathe in the scent of orange blossoms.
To hear the splash of the sea.
To look up at the sky and ask
the passing clouds what they have seen.

Smiling, with a full heart,
to close my eyes and look within.

And then, love, light, and warmth
will take their place,
carrying away all that was
never meant to stay.

And this… will happen now.”

The most profound lesson I have learned in my life came after a near-death experience in my twenties when I fell from a cliff. This event allowed me to focus on what is truly important: living in the present moment and cultivating gratitude. The future and the past don’t exist; all we have is the experience of the present.

These thoughts often come to mind whenever I walk along the shore at the edge of the coast. As I watch the golden sun kiss the horizon, I can’t help but feel grateful for the fortune and happiness that come from embracing the beauty of living boldly and fully in the present.
