“Stepping Over” marks the beginning of my artistic journey with stones. This painting is my very first in the series. It all started one ordinary morning in 2004, as I walked along the beach. I found myself captivated by the pebbles scattered around me, as if each one held a silent story waiting to be told. That same afternoon, inspired by this realization, I began painting with stones as my subject for the first time.
This painting wasn’t just the start of a series—it was a breakthrough for me. It symbolized stepping out of my comfort zone, trusting my instincts, and embracing the unknown. Stones, with their timeless presence and wisdom, became my symbols of stability and transformation. They taught me to be present, to listen, and to trust the flow of life.
‘Stepping Over’ represents that moment of courage, of taking the first step toward something new. It reminds us that growth comes when we follow our hearts and dare to venture into the unknown.
