This painting began in 2012, after a time shaped by the global financial crisis. I was struck by how, even amidst hardship, people seemed to grow closer, in every home, in every land. There was a sense of unity, of supporting one another, even as everyone worked through their own struggles.
The idea came from reflecting on these connections – how lives cross, separate, and reconnect in ways we often can’t control. These moments of parting and coming together are part of the rhythm of life, the engine that keeps us moving forward. This painting captures that resilience and the enduring bonds that hold us together, even in challenging times.
