in the chaotic past and future,

The Marvelous Journey to the Present” has been a vision in my mind for as long as I can remember. I’ve always wanted to paint stones falling from above, representing the relentless passage of time. There’s something mesmerizing about capturing that motion, the way moments slip through our fingers like stones tumbling down.
As I worked on this piece, I was thinking about how our minds often get lost in the chaos of the past and the future. We replay old memories or worry about what’s to come, and in doing so, we miss what’s right in front of us. Yet, no matter how far our thoughts drift, they eventually land back in the present, the only place where real life happens.
This painting reminds us that the greatest journey isn’t about escaping to somewhere else; it’s about staying here, fully engaged in the now. The falling stones symbolize time passing but also the beauty of each moment as it arrives. It’s an invitation to pause, breathe, and embrace the present with all its imperfections and wonders.

This original multipanel diptych painting consists of two vertically aligned pieces.

“The Marvelous Journey to the Present” was selected and exhibited at the London Art Biennale 2023. It is now showcased in the prestigious Gagliardi Gallery in London.
