Living in the Now

“I don’t want to run anymore.
I want to pause.

To listen and to feel.
To fall silent
and let the breeze gently tangle my hair.

To breathe in the scent of orange blossoms.
To hear the splash of the sea.
To look up at the sky
and ask the passing clouds what they have seen.

Smiling, with a full heart,
to close my eyes
and look within.

And then,
love, light, and warmth
will take their place,
carrying away
all that was never meant to stay.

And this
will happen now.”
