Believe

I painted “Believe” while I was living in Texas, far from the Greek sea I deeply missed. One night, I dreamt of a heavy stone rising and floating above the water, something impossible, but it felt so natural in my dream. The following day I started painting my dream combining two techniques, abstract for the sea and realism for the stone. Shortly before returning to Greece, the painting was sold, but due to a mistake, it came back with me. I thought that this painting was meant to accompany me through a new, challenging chapter of my life, as a reminder that “everything will be okay.” The stone, defying its weight, became a symbol of resilience and strength, reminding me that no matter how heavy life feels, we can always rise.
